Teenager Jaylon Connish Got Killed in a Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Downey
Downey, CA (March 6, 2022) – High school student Jaylon Connish (17) died after getting involved in a vehicle crash around 5 Freeway in Downey. According to CBS LA, the incident happened at around 10:50 pm on Saturday. According to the California Highway Patrol, Connish rode a gray Nissan Altima going southbound on 5 freeway. Then, the vehicle went 200 yards down an embankment. Paramedics responded to the report, but Connish already died at the scene. Meanwhile, they transported three other victims to a nearby trauma center due to their injuries.

Connish studied at Warren High School. The Downey Unified School District shared a statement with CBS LA. It stated, “our Downey Unified family is heartbroken that we have lost one of our Warren High School students, a young man with a bright future ahead of him who has been such a big part of our Downey Unified family… Our prayers are with our two students who are currently fighting and, as a Downey Unified family, we will rally around them to support them during this extremely challenging time.” To help staff and students grieve officials from the Downey Unified District offer mental health support.
