The Fresno County Coroner’s Office reported the fatality in a car accident in Fresno County, which left a 45-year-old mother dead.
The fatality was identified as 45-year-old Jennifer Ellis of Clovis.
According to the California Highway Patrol South Fresno County division, Ellis, the driver of a gray Honda, was at the intersection of Minnewawa Avenue and International Avenue when a Mercedes vehicle struck her.
Authorities reported the Honda driver died at the accident scene due to her injuries.
Additionally, responders took her children, aged 8 and 10, to the hospital for treatment.
Furthermore, police identified the Mercedes driver as 22-year-old Wallowa Bates.
Authorities also brought Wallowa Bates to the hospital, eventually placing her in the Fresno County Jail. She bailed on Tuesday afternoon after paying a $10,000 fine.
Bates’ court appearance has been set for June 20 at 8:00 a.m.
