Jennyfer Flores and Michellie Gonzalez Killed in a Car Crash in Compton
Compton, CA (June 12, 2022) – Authorities identified Jennyfer Flores (18) of Long Beach and Michellie Gonzalez (20) of Cudahy as fatalities in a car crash in Compton on Sunday. According to NBC Los Angeles, the crash reportedly happened around 11:42 pm.
Jennyfer Flores and Michellie Gonzalez were headed eastbound on Stockwell Street in a red Honda when an SUV crashed into them.
The coroner’s office identified Jennyfer Flores and Michellie Gonzalez as the victims of the fatal car crash in Compton late Sunday night.
Flores and Gonzales were headed eastbound on Stockwell Street in a red Honda. Then, a driver of an SUV headed southbound on Wilmington Avenue crashed into them. According to eyewitnesses, one of the two women was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver of the SUV, later identified as Treyshawn Cooley, stayed at the scene and shared what happened during the crash.
“When I get to the light, the car comes out. I guess he didn’t see me … my light was green … I’m coming straight and they come out and I hit them,”
“First thing I do is take off my seatbelt and I get out of the car and it’s a whole bunch of people, and I guess it was a street takeover.” Cooley added.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the crash was not related to a street takeover that took place in the area.
