East Palo Alto, CA (May 25, 2022) – Jesus Alejandro Belmonte Castro Jr. (29) died in a solo-vehicle crash on University Avenue and Bay Road in East Palo Alto. According to the Mercury News, the accident happened at around 8:04 pm on Monday.
East Palo Alto resident Jesus Alejandro Belmonte Castro Jr. died after crashing his car into a tree.
According to authorities, Belmonte Castro Jr. drove his vehicle westbound on University Avenue at a high speed. Then, he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree.
East Palo Alto Interim Police Chief Jeff Liu said to the Mercury News that the impact caused severe damages to the car and fatal injuries to the driver.
Police also noted that no one else occupied the vehicle during the accident. They are still investigating the accident. They also noted that street racing wasn’t a factor in this incident based on surveillance camera footage of the accident.
