John Tarter, a 78-year-old resident of Fresno, died in a Fresno County DUI crash on Saturday, as confirmed by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities also identified the driver as 35-year-old Ryan Matthew Wayne Trevino of Fresno, suspected of DUI.
The incident occurred on Millerton Road near Marina Drive when Trevino, driving a blue Chevy Silverado, veered onto the shoulder and then into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a white Toyota Tundra.
Responders rushed John Tarter to Lost Lake by ambulance to be airlifted to a nearby hospital, but he later succumbed to fatal injuries at Lost Lake.
Additionally, a passenger in the Tundra sustained significant injuries.
Meanwhile, Trevino, with a history of DUI violations, suffered severe injuries and is currently hospitalized.
Since there is another victim in this Fresno County DUi crash, he could face murder charges.
Furthermore, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating this Fresno County DUI crash resulting in the death of John Tarter.
