Cabazon, CA (March 14, 2024) – Joseph Rios (32) of Menifee suffered fatal injuries in an I-10 truck crash in Cabazon after their vehicle hit a tractor-trailer. According to News Channel 3, the collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Joseph Rios, a 32-year-old Menifee resident, died in an I-10 truck crash on the westbound side of the I-10, west of Main Street, after the vehicle they were riding in veered off the road and crashed into a tractor-trailer.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Hyundai Sonata traveling westbound veered into the dirt shoulder for unknown reasons. The driver attempted to correct the course by steering left but collided with a tractor-trailer traveling in the same direction.
The impact forced the Hyundai back to the right, where it struck a tree in a nearby dirt field.
Joseph Rios, a passenger in the Hyundai, was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs but was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Meanwhile, the driver sustained minor injuries.
The family of Joseph Rios has also established a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses.
Furthermore, the tractor-trailer involved in this I-10 truck crash in Cabazon fled the scene before authorities arrived. Anyone with information may contact the CHP San Gorgonio station. The CHP confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the incident.
