According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred on September 20 when Johnson walked southbound along Pacific Heights Boulevard.
She then crossed Mira Mesa Boulevard despite the red traffic signal, resulting in a collision with a vehicle.
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old driver promptly pulled over and dialed 9-1-1 to request assistance.
Upon the arrival of first responders at the scene, they immediately performed lifesaving measures. However, despite their efforts, Johnson succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
