A Mother of Four, Kathy Chavez Struck by a Speeding Driver in the San Fernando Valley
San Fernando Valley, CA (February 8, 2023) – Kathy Chavez (45) was identified as the fatality in a crash involving a speeding driver on North Balboa Boulevard in San Fernando Valley. According to KTLA, the crash occurred around 3:45 am on Wednesday.
A speeding driver crashed into Kathy Chavez’s vehicle on North Balboa Boulevard in San Fernando Valley.
Authorities reported a fatal high-speed crash involving two vehicles on North Balboa Boulevard in San Fernando Valley.
Responders found two of three victims trapped in the wreckage. A victim died at the scene, she was then identified as Kathy Chavez.
According to police, a Chevrolet Corvette traveling around 90 to 100 mph ran a red light and crashed into Chavez’s vehicle.
The Corvette driver and their passengers were transported to a hospital. However, the driver later succumbed to their injuries. While the passenger is currently in critical condition.
Kathy Chavez was a mother of four and a grandmother of one. She was reportedly on her way to work at the Castaic post office when the crash happened.
Chavez’s loved ones and friends held a candlelight vigil on Wednesday. Close friends and co-workers remembered her as a really kind person.
This crash remains under investigation.
