Kevin Olivera and Another Man Suffered Fatal Injuries in Riverside Pedestrian Crash
Riverside, CA (June 27, 2023) – Kevin Olivera and another pedestrian succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a Riverside pedestrian crash on Bishop near Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue. According to ABC7, the accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Kevin Olivera, another pedestrian, and a dog were fatally injured in a pedestrian crash near Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue in Riverside.
The Riverside Police Department reported one of the fatalities in a Riverside pedestrian crash involving two men on foot and a GMC pick-up truck, leaving the pedestrians with life-threatening injuries near Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue.
The fatality was identified as Kevin Olivera, who left behind a newborn named Karla.
According to the report, the GMC pick-up truck, driven by a 17-year-old teen without license and ID, was going southbound on Van Buren at high speed when it lost control, hitting two pedestrians, a dog, and a light pole.
Unfortunately, Olivera, another pedestrian, and the dog succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver incurred a severe internal injury from the collision. He is now detained due to the casualty.
Officer Ryan Railsback stated, “We do suspect that alcohol may play a factor in this; we do know he’s 17 years old and is unlicensed as well as no ID.”
Olivera, according to family relatives, was a hardworking young guy who would often work two jobs at the same time.
