East San Jose Pedestrian Accident Killed 54-Year-Old Pedestrian Laura Patricia Ortega Bautista
San Jose, CA (June 30, 2022) – Laura Patricia Ortega Bautista (54) of San Jose was identified as the fatality in a pedestrian accident in East San Jose. According to Mercury News, the incident reportedly occurred around 5:00 pm on Tuesday.
Laura Patricia Ortega Bautista Velasquez was crossing in a marked crosswalk when a 2005 Nissan SUV struck her.
The San Jose police responded to reports of a collision near Leeward Drive and Arden Way in San Jose on Tuesday.
Responding officers transported the victim to a hospital due to life-threatening injuries, where the victim later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities then identified the victim as Laura Patricia Ortega Bautista of San Jose.
According to reports, the victim was crossing in a marked crosswalk when a 2005 Nissan SUV struck her. Then, the unnamed driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The San Jose police reported that Ortega Bautista’s death was the city’s third traffic death in a single day. The victim was the 22nd pedestrian murdered in a San Jose street incident in 2022.
