San Diego, CA (April 14, 2022) – Leticia Gutierrez de Ordaz (64) died after getting involved in a truck crash on Interstate 5 in South Bay, San Diego. According to FOX 5, the crash happened at around 11:00 am on Tuesday.
According to authorities, Gutierrez de Ordaz rode as a passenger in a truck driven by her husband. When he tried to change lanes, the truck then collided with another vehicle and rolled over multiple times. This collision happened northbound on I-5 somewhere near Coronado Avenue.

Reports indicated that a Volkswagen Jetta hit the truck from behind, causing the truck to roll over. Afterwards, Gutierrez de Ordaz got thrown off the truck. Responders arrived and transported Gutierrez de Ordaz to the hospital. However, she was later pronounced dead.
Gutierrez de Ordaz’s husband and the Jetta’s female driver also sustained injuries in the crash.
So far, the California Highway Patrol believes that alcohol or drugs weren’t factors in this collision.
