Types of Compensation You Can Get After a Livermore Motorcycle Crash
Victims often think that compensation for damages only covers medical bills and vehicle damage costs. However, this merely scratches the surface of what’s available to you following a motorcycle accident. Depending on the circumstances of your accident, you may receive compensation for the following damages:
Economic damages include monetary losses with receipts and written documentation, such as:
- Medical expenses
- Property damage costs
- Lost wages
- Future income loss
- Out-of-pocket expenses
Non-economic damages refer to intangible losses from the accident, such as:
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional distress
- Loss of companionship
- Diminished quality of life
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Punitive Damages may be awarded in cases of extreme recklessness, intentional misconduct, or malice by the at-fault party.
While economic damages are quantifiable through evidence, assessing non-economic losses requires the expertise of a personal injury attorney. A skilled motorcycle accident lawyer can evaluate these intangible losses, maximize compensation, and determine eligibility for punitive damages.
