Fresno County, CA (November 5, 2023) – A Highway 180 wrong-way crash involving a DUI driver caused fatal injuries to a 33-year-old man. According to ABC30, the accident occurred at around 12:25 a.m. on Saturday.

The incident prompted a response from California Highway Patrol Officers, who arrived just before 12:30 a.m.
According to the officers, a white Honda, operated by 30-year-old Vikash Kumar, was traveling in the wrong direction within the westbound lanes of Highway 180.
A Buick Enclave, driven by a 33-year-old man traveling westward, collided with the Honda when Kumar attempted to execute a U-turn to rectify his course.
The Buick impacted the Honda on its passenger side, resulting in critical injuries to a man who was a passenger in Kumar’s vehicle.
Unfortunately, the passenger’s injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, Kumar was subsequently transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he received treatment for major injuries.
Additionally, upon his discharge from the hospital, police will take Kumar into custody and face charges of felony manslaughter and driving under the influence.
