Los Angeles, CA (June 15, 2023) – Maria Teresa Torres (81) succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a Silver Lake hit-and-run crash at Berkeley Avenue. According to The Eastsider LA, the accident occurred on Monday.

The authorities responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, leaving an 81-year-old victim with life-threatening injuries.
They identified the fatality as 81-year-old Maria Teresa Torres of Glendale.
According to the report, Torres was walking towards her car on northbound Silver Lake Boulevard at Berkeley Avenue when another vehicle struck her.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 53-year-old Armen Manukyan of Glendale. He later turned himself into LAPD Central Station on Wednesday.
According to Central Traffic Division Detective Juan Campos, they booked the suspect at around 4:10 pm with a charge of felony hit-and-run. His bail is worth $50,000.
Campos mentioned, “It wouldn’t have been a crime if he’d just stopped. It’d be a civil matter.”
Moreover, the suspect has hired a lawyer and refuses to make any further statements.
