San Jose, CA (December 11, 2023) – Padmanbhan Krishnan (73) of San Jose sustained fatal injuries in a San Jose pedestrian crash involving a teen driver on Almaden Expressway south of Camden Avenue. According to MercuryNews, the crash happened around 5:05 p.m. on Friday.
Padmanbhan Krishnan succumbed to fatal injuries after a teen driver hit him while walking on Almaden Expressway south.
Padmanbhan Krishnan, a 73-year-old resident of San Jose, died in a San Jose pedestrian crash, as identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
According to San Jose police, the officers received a call and rushed to Almaden Expressway, south of Camden Avenue.
On arrival, they found a man who was hit by a red 2009 Toyota sedan. The driver, a minor male, remained at the scene.
Consequently, the wounded pedestrian was rushed to a hospital, where he later died.
Meanwhile, there’s no report of any citation or arrest of the driver.
The authorities mentioned that Padmanbhan Krishnan wasn’t in a marked crosswalk during the incident. Notably, a new California law allows pedestrians to cross a roadway outside a crosswalk safely.
As of now, this incident records the 47th traffic fatality in San Jose this year and the 26th involving a pedestrian.
