Pescadero, CA (October 13, 2023) – A Pescadero 100-foot cliff crash left a 29-year-old Watsonville man riding as a passenger fatal. According to Mercury News, the deadly crash happened just before 10:00 pm on Thursday.

A Pescadero 100-foot cliff crash led to the tragic death of a 29-year-old Watsonville man, while a 22-year-old woman from Arcata suffered injuries.
In addition, the woman was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
The fatal incident occurred close to the intersection of Pescadero Creek Road and Highway 1, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The driver, identified as Madeline St. Pierre, drove a 2021 Kia Forte, went west on Pescadero Creek Road, and failed to slow down or stop at the intersection.
Consequently, her vehicle continued towards the ocean, eventually plummeting over the cliff.
According to the CHP, the Kia took a severe 100-foot fall and landed on Pescadero State Beach. The vehicle landed partially in the water but stayed on its wheels.
The tragic incident ended with the right rear passenger, a 29-year-old Watsonville man, pronounced dead at the scene.
St. Pierre and another passenger were taken to the Stanford Medical Center, the former suffering from significant injuries while the latter was admitted as a precaution.
Following the crash, St. Pierre was arrested based on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
