Palmdale, CA (September 30, 2023) – Raul Amado Vasquez (20) died at the scene of a Palmdale pedestrian crash after a vehicle hit him. According to the Antelope Valley Press, the police responded to the crash at about 5:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Raul Amado Vasquez, a 20-year-old pedestrian, succumbed to fatal injuries after a vehicle struck him while walking along Fort Tejon Road near Avenue S-8.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner identified the victim on Friday.
The Palmdale Sheriff’s Station received a distress call around 5:30 a.m. reporting a vehicle versus pedestrian incident.
Investigation revealed that the pedestrian was walking within the northbound left lane along Fort Tejon Road. Simultaneously, a vehicle went northbound in the same left lane at approximately 60 mph and eventually saw Vasquez.
In a desperate attempt to avoid a collision, the driver swerved. However, the incident still resulted in a crash.
Unfortunately, the force of the collision threw Vasquez, and he landed in the northbound left lane.
Meanwhile, the driver immediately pulled over and made efforts to assist.
Moreover, the Los Angeles County Fire Department promptly responded but failed to save Vasquez. He succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Furthermore, Palmdale station traffic detectives have taken charge of the investigation.
