Raul Negrete Gontes Killed after DUI Car Crash on I-15 freeway near Baker
Baker, CA (March 27, 2022) – Raul Negrete Gontes (39) was identified as a fatality in a rollover crash northbound on I-15 freeway near Baker. According to VVNG, the incident happened at around 3:08 am on Saturday.
Raul Negrete Gontes died after a DUI Driver hit his Chevy northbound on the I-15 freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a male driver from Victorville (31) drove a 2019 Dodge Charger at a high speed on the no. 1 lane. It was this speeding vehicle that collided with the rear end of Gontes’ Chevy. The 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe was overturned and went across the median of the I-15 freeway due to the intensity of impact. The Dodge also crossed over the median and stopped upright on its wheels.
Responders arrived, but Gontes was already pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Dodge’s male driver showed signs of intoxication. Authorities arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol.
