Ricardo Becerra, a 53-year-old Vista resident, died in a Bonsall DUI crash on Gopher Canyon Road near Hoxie Ranch Road, as confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The crash occurred as Ricardo Becerra was a passenger in a Toyota Camry driven by his 51-year-old wife, traveling westbound on Gopher Canyon Road near Hoxie Ranch Road in Bonsall.
Meanwhile, a Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the opposite direction on the same road veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with the Camry.
Paramedics swiftly arrived at the scene and rushed Becerra to the hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, both the driver of the pickup truck, a 29-year-old woman, and Becerra’s wife were also transported to medical facilities for treatment.
Moreover, investigators suspect that alcohol played a role in causing this Bonsall DUI crash.
Following her release from the hospital, authorities arrested the pickup truck’s driver on multiple charges, including suspicion of murder, felony DUI, and gross vehicular manslaughter.
