Richard Jooha Lim Died Killed in Truck Crash on Highway 99 in Galt of Sacramento County
Galt, CA (May 20, 2022) – Richard Jooha Lim (42) died after crashing his minivan into a big rig on Highway 99 in Galt. According to the Galt Herald, the incident happened at around 11:50 am on Thursday.
Richard Jooha Lim drove into the highway’s shoulder before crashing into a parked big rig’s rear.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Lim drove a minivan northbound on Highway 99 at over 90 mph. Then, he drove into the shoulder and rear-ended a big rig parked along the highway. Responders from the CHP and fire department arrived, but Lim had already died at the scene
The big rig’s 50-year-old male driver from Arlington, Texas shared that he pulled over because of a medical emergency. Fire department responders took him to a hospital to receive medical care for non-life-threatening injuries.
After the accident, authorities closed the highway’s portion from A Street freeway to the Simmerhorn exit. They investigated and cleared the scene. They had used a heavy-duty tow truck equipped with an arm-like crane to clear huge debris from the crash.
Authorities reopened this lane after around three hours. This road closure caused traffic congestion, slowing traffic flow up until Collierville.
