Richard McIver Killed in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision in Somis
Somis, CA (June 14, 2022) – Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office identified Richard McIver (76) of Moorpark as the fatality in a multi-vehicle collision in Somis on Tuesday. According to Ventura County Star, the crash happened around 9:20 am.
Richard McIver of Moorpark suffered major injuries following the head-on collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2006 Toyota Tundra pickup attempted to pass an Isuzu truck headed westbound.
Then, the Isuzu truck crossed the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a semi-trailer carrying lumber.
The driver of the Isuzu truck was then identified as Richard McIver of Moorpark. He suffered major injuries following the head-on collision. Authorities later pronounced McIver dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Ventura County Fire reported that five other victims sustained minor to moderate injuries in the collision.
