The Riverside Police Department reports that a Nissan Versa with two passengers was traveling northbound on Chicago when it collided with a Kia Optima, also carrying two individuals eastbound on MLK.
However, which driver failed to stop at the busy four-way intersection remains unclear.
Unfortunately, a 27-year-old Moreno Valley man in the Nissan died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased upon arrival at Riverside Community Hospital. It is uncertain whether he was the driver or passenger.
Alongside him, a 63-year-old Riverside resident was seriously hurt. Both people inside the Kia also suffered severe injuries, but their identities have not been disclosed.
Consequently, responders took all injured parties to trauma centers.
According to the authorities, the deceased person’s identification is pending a coroner’s investigation.
Meanwhile, the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is currently examining this Riverside overnight crash.
