Orange County, CA (August 21, 2023) – Samantha Hernandez Renteria (23) of Costa Mesa died at the scene of a Highway 74 head-on accident. Another driver, a 20-year-old man from Lake Elsinore, also succumbed to fatal injuries. According to The Press-Enterprise, the crash occurred around 11:33 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, The fatal collision occurred on the highway, specifically just west of 7th Street, where a man operating a Honda CRV in the eastbound lanes veered into the opposite, westbound lanes, leading to a head-on impact with a westbound Nissan Sentra.
Tragically, both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
