San Diego, CA (February 12, 2024) – A San Diego car crash left a 20-year-old driver fatal after he crashed into a light pole causing the vehicle to catch fire in the University City neighborhood near Rose Canyon Trail. According to Patch, the crash occurred at around 4:33 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the accident happened on 6900 Genesee Avenue in the University City neighborhood.
The young man was reportedly traveling north on Genesee in a 2021 Tesla Model 3.
Suddenly, he veered unsafely to the right, hitting a curb and a light pole.
After the collision, the Tesla became engulfed in flames. Unfortunately, the responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
His identity remains undisclosed, with no other injuries reported.
As of now, further details have not been released.
