San Diego, CA (November 6, 2023) – A San Diego pedestrian crash killed a 77-year-old man after a car struck him in the westbound No. 2 lane of Imperial Avenue. According to FOX5, the crash was reported just before 5:45 a.m. on Monday.

A San Diego pedestrian crash at 68th Street and Imperial Avenue left a 77-year-old man dead after a vehicle hit him.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the 77-year-old male pedestrian was hit in the westbound No. 2 lane of Imperial Avenue after leaving “a place of safety” before stepping in front of a Ford F-150 truck.
Tragically, the 77-year-old man sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
At this time, authorities have yet to disclose his identity.
Meanwhile, the Ford truck also appeared to have had some front-end damage. Fortunately, the 41-year-old male driver did not report any injuries.
Currently, SDPD’s Traffic Division is investigating this San Diego pedestrian crash. Notably, it is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor in the incident.
