Shortly after, the vehicle collided head-on with a Nissan. Unfortunately, the Nissan driver later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the investigators identified the Honda driver as 24-year-old Briana Contreras.
CHP Officer Salvador Castro stated that Contreras faces murder and DUI charges. Authorities continue to gather information about this San Diego wrong-way crash.
Further, Officer Castro mentioned that many intoxicated drivers are not aware of their surroundings, leading to such incidents.
