San Joaquin River Crash Left 46-Year-Old Woman and Good Samaritan Eddie Gerardo Cervantes Lora Fatal
Tracy, CA (October 17, 2023) – A San Joaquin River crash left a 46-year-old Patterson woman fatal after her vehicle crashed and went into the river. Good Samaritan Eddie Gerardo Cervantes Lora, who went in to save her, also died. According to CBS, the crash occurred on October 10.

A San Joaquin River crash occurred last week involving a 46-year-old woman from Patterson and her 5-year-old daughter.
According to the report, they traveled northbound on Airport Way over a bridge. Unexpectedly, their SUV veered off the road, hit the barrier, struck a tree, and plunged into the water.
Fortunately, two onlookers saw the two stranded in the sinking SUV. They dove into the river to help.
The first Samaritan successfully brought the child to safety. Meanwhile, the second Samaritan attempted to save the woman.
Sadly, she was swept underwater before they could reach her. Subsequently, the woman emerged on the shore, still alive but severely injured.
The Patterson woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, received treatment at the San Joaquin General Hospital.
Regrettably, the California Highway Patrol confirmed her passing this week.
Unfortunately, the good Samaritan who tried to save her also lost his life. His body was discovered the day after this San Joaquin River crash.
The San Joaquin County coroner’s office identified him as Eddie Gerardo Cervantes Lora, a 41-year-old resident of Manteca.
