According to the San Diego police, they received reports of the accident at 13550 San Pasqual Road near Sunset Hills shortly after 1:30 p.m.
Then, Escondido Police Department officers reached the scene around 1:45 p.m.
According to the authorities, a 19-year-old man driving a red 2003 Pontiac lost control and veered into the westbound lane while heading east on San Pasqual Road.
Meanwhile, a westbound white 2023 Chevy Bolt collided with the Pontiac’s side.
Unfortunately, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
On the other hand, the occupants of the Chevy Bolt, a 79-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were hospitalized.
Footage revealed both vehicles burnt from the collision.
The authorities issued a SigAlert in the area and closed roads for several hours to facilitate investigations.
Currently, the police confirmed alcohol did not play a role in the crash, and they are yet to determine if rain contributed to this San Pasqual Valley crash.
