San Pedro Plane Crash Left Two Severely Injured After Crashing into Soccer Field
Los Angeles, CA (September 25, 2023) – A flight instructor and a student sustained critical injuries from a San Pedro plane crash after their plane crashed into a soccer field. According to LATimes, the authorities responded to the crash at around 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, emergency responders arrived on the 400 block of Westmont Drive just before 1 p.m., finding the pilot inside the aircraft.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson confirmed that the single-engine Sling 4 TSI crashed in a field southeast of Torrance Municipal Airport.
Additionally, according to LAFD Battalion Chief Shin Black, the plane took off from Torrance.
A National Transportation Safety Board spokesperson also stated that a student and a flight instructor boarded the plane.
Furthermore, two bystanders pulled a woman out of the plane, estimated to be in her 30s.
Aside from the woman, firefighters also rescued the 45-year-old pilot. Authorities then transported them to the hospital with critical injuries.
Fortunately, no fire was involved in this San Pedro plane crash, and no other individuals were on board the plane.
Meanwhile, Sling Pilot Academy in Torrance, a nearby flight school that utilizes Sling aircraft similar to the one involved in the crash, has yet to issue a statement.
Moreover, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate to determine the cause of this San Pedro plane crash.
