Ventura County, CA (November 7, 2023) – A Ventura County car crash injured several people after a driver fleeing police crashed into an ambulance, which then struck a large truck. According to the LA Times, the police received reports at around 11:00 p.m. on Monday.

Initially, the California Highway Patrol sought the assistance of the Ventura County Police Department to locate Ron Balden, a resident of Ventura.
Patrol officers pursued Balden into Ventura but lost track of him near Valentine Road and Victoria Avenue, just off the 101 Freeway.
Upon finding him again, Balden sped away, leading the authorities to cease the pursuit out of safety concerns.
Shortly after, Balden’s car slammed into a Gold Coast Ambulance near a Main Street shopping center, driving the ambulance into a large dump truck.
Subsequently, both Balden’s vehicle and the ambulance caught fire, luckily with no patients aboard the ambulance.
As a result, all vehicle occupants suffered injuries and were transported to hospitals, where they remained in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Balden was severely injured but is expected to recover. Further information about him is currently undisclosed.
Balden is under Ventura Police for potential felony charges, including evading an officer and driving under the influence, following this Ventura County fiery crash.
Additionally, the CHP is investigating possible charges against Balden for assault with a deadly weapon involving their officer.
