Shane Bunn Died in a Yuba City DUI Crash, Authorities Arrested the Driver Identified as Larry Lee Anderson Jr.
Yuba City, CA (February 27, 2024) – Shane Bunn (34) of Marysville died in a Yuba City DUI crash. Authorities also arrested 50-year-old Larry Lee Anderson Jr. of Plumas Lake on several charges. According to ABC10, the crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on Monday.

Shane Bunn, a 34-year-old Marysville resident, died in a Yuba City DUI crash along Feather River Boulevard north of Murphy Road, as confirmed by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a BMW was traveling southbound on Feather River Boulevard with its hazard lights activated, followed closely by a white Nissan Altima. Simultaneously, a Honda CRV attempted to overtake both vehicles by driving in the opposing northbound lane.
As the CRV passed between the BMW and the Altima, a Toyota Corolla attempted to pass them by squeezing between the CRV and the Altima. In the process, the Corolla sideswiped both the Altima and the BMW.
The collision then caused the Corolla to rear-end the CRV, propelling it down an embankment where it collided with a concrete block culvert.
Unfortunately, Shane Bunn, the driver of the CRV, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Additionally, the Altima had three passengers from Modesto: a 29-year-old woman, a 13-year-old teenager, and a four-year-old child. Fortunately, they sustained no life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Corolla, identified as 50-year-old Larry Lee Anderson Jr. of Plumas Lake, fled the scene but was later apprehended. Anderson faces charges including second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
According to CHP, alcohol also played a significant role in this Yuba County DUI crash.
Moreover, Merrill Grant, the Principal of Lindhurst High School, disclosed that Shane Bunn served as an assistant football coach in their Blazer program. Although not employed by the school district, Bunn was a Lindhurst High graduate from the class of 2008.
