Lamont, CA (November 6, 2023) – Yolanda Godinez (36), Darli Santiago (28), and Gabina Santiago de Arias (56) succumbed to fatal injuries after a South Edison Road crash in Lamont. According to KGET, the crash occurred at around 5:36 a.m. on Friday.

A South Edison Road crash claimed the lives of three Lamont women, identified as 36-year-old Yolanda Godinez, 28-year-old Darli Santiago, and 56-year-old Gabina Santiago de Arias, as confirmed by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities also arrested the other driver on charges of vehicular manslaughter.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, 38-year-old José de Jésus Gómez of Arvin neglected a stop sign at the intersection of South Edison Road and Di Giorgio Road and collided with another vehicle occupied by three women.
Unfortunately, all three women succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
Gabina Santiago de Arias was the vehicle’s driver, while Yolanda Godinez and Darli Santiago were passengers.
Moreover, the KCSO will conduct a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause and manner of death for the three women.
Following the crash, CHP officers temporarily closed Edison Road in both directions, just north of the intersection.
