A SR-78 DUI Crash Left a 44-Year-Old Ramona Woman Fatal After a Head-On Collision
San Diego, CA (November 25, 2023) – A SR-78 DUI crash caused fatal injuries to a 44-year-old woman from Ramona after a head-on collision. Authorities also arrested a 26-year-old Ramona man suspected of DUI, hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter. According to ABC10, the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

An SR-78 DUI crash in San Diego involved a 26-year-old man from Ramona and led to the tragic death of a 44-year-old woman also from Ramona.
According to the California Highway Patrol, around 7:30 a.m., the suspect was headed east on State Route 78, close to Weekend Villa Road.
Alarmingly, his vehicle veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Ford Edge SUV, pushing it off the road.
At the same time, a 44-year-old woman was driving her 2007 Ford Edge SUV westbound on SR-78. CHP confirms the suspect’s vehicle crossed her lane, triggering a head-on collision.
The crash impact forced the SUV down an embankment adjacent to the roadway.
Tragically, the Ramona woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the suspect abandoned his vehicle at the crash site and ran away. They later located and arrested him at his home in Ramona, suspecting him of DUI, hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter.
At present, authorities have not disclosed the victims’ or suspects’ identities.
