According to a statement released by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, the incident occurred when a deputy, traveling eastbound on Waterloo Road near a Taco Bell opposite Piccoli Road, collided with a pedestrian in the lane. The exact speed at which the deputy was traveling remains undetermined.
Following the collision, the deputy promptly exited the vehicle and attempted to provide medical assistance to the pedestrian. However, despite the efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
