A Woman Suffered Life-Threatening Injuries in Suspected DUI Napa Car Crash Involving Three Cars
Napa, CA (July 24, 2022) – A Napa car accident involving three vehicles hospitalized a woman due to severe life-threatening injuries. According to the Napa Valley Register, the crash happened at around 10:10 pm on Saturday.
The Cadillac’s female passenger sustained critical injuries in a Napa car crash involving three cars on Highway 29, south of Imola Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Cadillac driven by Susan Burnham Jevarian (20) from San Francisco drove toward the opposite way on the northbound lanes of Highway 29, south of Imola Avenue (Highway 121) interchange.
Then, she crashed into a 2003 Toyota driven by a 56-year-old male driver and a 2021 Tesla with three occupants. First, the Cadillac hit the front right corner of the Toyota. The impact then caused the Cadillac to spin into the path of the Tesla. Then, the Tesla struck the left rear area of the Cadillac.
Responders later arrived at the scene. Then, they immediately transported the Cadillac’s unidentified passenger to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center via ambulance due to critical life-threatening injuries. They also transported Jevarian to the Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center via helicopter after suffering moderate injuries.
The Toyota’s 56-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. Authorities transported him to the Queen via an American Medical Response ambulance. The Tesla’s three occupants also sustained minor injuries, but didn’t go to the hospital.
After the crash, authorities closed a portion of Highway 29 near Imola Avenue. It remained closed until Sunday morning, so they rerouted traffic to Golden Gate Drive. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office also sent out a Nixle alert for motorists to avoid the area because of the crash.
Authorities later booked Jevarian at around 3:45 am on Sunday under suspicions of a felony: causing injury by driving under the influence.
