Thomas Walters Killed in Car Crash After Losing Control of his Vehicle Along Bennett Valley Road East of Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa, CA (March 22, 2022) – Thomas Walters (60) died after he crashed his silver Volkswagen Beetle on Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa. According to the Press Democrat, the incident happened at around 6:45 am on Saturday, March 12.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Walters lost control of his Beetle going east along Bennett Valley at a high speed. Then, he crossed a double yellow line and went into the westbound lane. Afterward, he got into the shoulder and crashed into a couple of trees.
Thomas Walters lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with some trees and a Nissan pickup truck.
The collision brought the vehicle back into the road’s westbound lane, causing a Nissan pickup to crash into it. Responders arrived, but Walters already died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Nissan’s driver sustained no injuries. However, his vehicle got minor damages.
Authorities closed Bennett Valley Road for a few hours after the incident.
