Lompoc, CA (July 27, 2023) – Three victims, identified as Adelina Cortez Olea (48), Zeferino Chavez Martinez (47), and Rosalva Chavez Cortez (18) of Santa Maria, suffered fatal injuries in a Highway 1 car crash in Lompoc. According to KEYT, the crash occurred around 5:55 a.m. on June 6.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a deadly Highway 1 car crash that resulted in three fatalities on June 6.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as Adelina Cortez Olea (48), Zeferino Chavez Martinez (47), and Rosalva Chavez Cortez (18) of Santa Maria.
According to the report, a Kia inadvertently drifted into oncoming northbound traffic. As a result, a Chevrolet truck traveling in the opposite direction collided with the left side of the vehicle.
Due to the crash, all three occupants of the Kia succumbed to their injuries.
Additionally, two individuals in the truck suffered minor injuries in the accident. Paramedics brought them to Marian Medical Center for treatment.
Furthermore, authorities believe alcohol or drugs did not play a significant role in the occurrence of this Highway 1 car crash.
It is unclear what factors may have contributed to the driver veering into the wrong lane.
