Tommy Chu Killed in Alleged DUI Crash on Interstate 15 in Corona
Corona, CA (February 17, 2022) – Tommy Chu (44) died after getting involved in a suspected DUI accident on Interstate 15 in Corona. According to Inside Eko, the incident happened at around 3:00 am on Saturday.
Jorge Anival Gomez Augustin (29) drove his Mercedes Benz E350 northbound on Interstate 15. Then, he rear-ended Chu’s Honda CRV, which also ran northbound. The impact made both vehicles go off the roadway and into an embankment across the Weirick off-ramp lanes. Afterwards, their vehicles stopped around a nearby exit ramp.
The rear of Tommy Chu’s vehicle got hit by another vehicle going northbound on Interstate 15.
Responders attended to Chu, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. On the other hand, Gomez Augustin didn’t sustain any injuries from the accident. However, authorities arrested him under suspicion of DUI as well as other charges.
