Damian Eden Orpineda and Alejandro Orpineda Olivas Fatally Struck in Highway 46 Multi-Vehicle Crash
Buttonwillow, CA (October 14, 2022) – Damian Eden Orpineda (23) and Alejandro Orpineda Olivas (21) of Wasco were identified as the fatalities in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 46 in Buttonwillow. According to KGET, the crash was reported around 5:46 am.
Damian Eden Orpineda and Alejandro Orpineda Olivas died at the scene after being hit by one of the semi-trucks involved in a prior head-on crash on Highway 46 in Buttonwillow.
Authorities responded to a fatal multi-vehicle crash involving two semi-trucks and another vehicle on Highway 46 in Buttonwillow.
Two victims died at the scene. The Kern County coroner’s office recently identified the fatalities as Damian Eden Orpineda and Alejandro Orpineda Olivas of Wasco.
According to authorities, for an unknown reason, an eastbound semi-truck operated by Lovepreet Dhillon crossed over the broken yellow line and went into the path of another westbound semi-truck driven by Anthony Campos.
This caused both trucks to collide head-on. One of the semi-trucks went out of control, left the road, and struck another vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 46.
The third vehicle was pushed backward before the semi-truck overturned. Officers reported that it was then found trapped under one of the trucks.
Orpineda and Olivas were in the third vehicle involved in the crash.
