Sacramento, CA (June 28, 2023) – Vira Zheltonozhko (82) succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a Citrus Heights pedestrian crash on eastbound Antelope Road between Lauppe Lane and Auburn Boulevard. According to the Sacramento Bee, the accident occurred after 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Citrus Heights Police Department reported the fatality in a Citrus Heights pedestrian crash involving a woman on foot and a vehicle, leaving the pedestrians with life-threatening injuries.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality as 82-year-old Vira Zheltonozhko of Citrus Heights.
According to the authorities, they saw the pedestrian lying on the sidewalk upon arriving at the scene.
Unfortunately, Zheltonozhk succumbed to her injuries at the scene after responders performed lifesaving efforts.
Meanwhile, the driver did not sustain any injury from the collision.
Authorities were uncertain whether drugs, alcohol, or speed played a role.
Moreover, the cause of this Citrus Heights pedestrian crash remains under investigation. Spokesman Lt. Ken Lewis is urging witnesses to come forward and contact the Citrus Heights police at 916-727-5500.
