Wayne Bernard Mays was Killed after two consecutive Hit-and-Run Accident in San Jose, CA
San Jose, CA (March 30, 2022) – Wayne Bernard Mays (71) died after a Honda sedan and white SUV hit him on Lucretia Avenue in San Jose. According to the Mercury News, the incident happened at around 1:53 am on Saturday (March 26).
According to the authorities, Mays was riding a motorized scooter on Lucretia Avenue’s left lane near Taiji Drive when the 2017 Honda Sedan struck him.

After which, the Honda’s driver fled the scene. Afterward, a white SUV also drove through Lucretia Avenue and hit Mays. This driver also fled the scene.
Responders transported Mays to a local hospital due to his severe injuries. However, he was later pronounced dead in the hospital.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident as a hit-and-run felony. According to Mercury News, this is the 23rd fatal collision of 2022. This prompted officials to deploy more traffic enforcement officers and push for legislation on speed-tracking cameras.
