Unfortunately, the adult son succumbed to his injuries at the scene while his mother passed away at the hospital. The victims’ identities and ages remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene, but witnesses alerted an officer in the vicinity, prompting his apprehension.
The LAPD and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrested and booked Isaiah Villegas, 31, of Los Angeles, on Sunday on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. He was held on $110,000 bail.
However, information regarding Villegas’ legal representation and an initial court date was not immediately available.
