Yhon Moises Panduro Chavez, a 32-year-old passenger, died in a Merced County crash after their vehicle lost control on Highway 152, as confirmed by Deputy Michael Domingue from Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the crash on April 30, where a 52-year-old man from Los Banos was driving a 2003 GMC vehicle westbound on Highway 152, accompanied by three passengers.
The driver lost control of the vehicle for reasons still under investigation, causing it to veer off the road and down a dirt embankment, overturning multiple times.
Unfortunately, one of the passengers, Yhon Moises Panduro Chavez, suffered fatal injuries from the crash. Police also mentioned that Chavez was not wearing a seat belt during the collision.
Meanwhile, the other occupants, who appeared to have been wearing seat belts, sustained moderate injuries.
