Yigit Tobkey, a 31-year-old resident of Lompoc, succumbed to fatal injuries after a Highway 1 crash near Santa Maria, as confirmed by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Raquel Zick.
Upon arrival, the California Highway Patrol found an unmanned motorcycle on the southbound shoulder and multiple vehicles at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Yigit Tobkey lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons, causing him to veer off the roadway. Positioned stationary in the southbound lane, he was tragically struck by multiple oncoming vehicles.
Meanwhile, witnesses at the scene suggested the possibility of hit-and-run incidents involving additional vehicles that left before authorities arrived.
