Yuba City, CA (February 28, 2024) – A Yuba City solo crash at the intersection of Colusa Highway and Rocca Way left a passenger dead and a driver hospitalized. According to CBSNews, the crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Yuba City Police Department reported that the incident occurred at the intersection of Colusa Highway and Rocca Way, causing traffic disruptions on eastbound Colusa Highway and northbound Rocca Way.
Preliminary findings from the investigation also suggest that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 20 before colliding with a light pole.
At the scene, responders discovered a Toyota RAV4 engulfed in flames on the southeast side of the intersection. Emergency personnel then extricated the driver from the vehicle, who was transported to Rideout hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a female passenger succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in this Yuba City solo crash.
Moreover, authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased woman.
As a result of the crash, Caltrans reported the closure of Colusa Highway from Highway 99 to Rocca Way to facilitate the investigation.
