Mother of 3, Zeomara Cohen, Killed in Alleged DUI Fiery Crash in Los Angeles, CA
Los Angeles, CA (June 11, 2022) – Authorities identified Zeomara Cohen (31) as the sole fatality in an alleged DUI crash in Porter Ranch on Thursday. According to ABC7, the crash reportedly happened around 11:42 pm.
Authorities were not able to rescue Zeomara Cohen. She died on the scene.
On Thursday, two Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers witnessed a fiery crash on the 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch. According to reports, the Lexus SUV lost control, collided with a guardrail, traveled up a dirt embankment, and hit a concrete sewer drain before bursting into flames.
The California Highway Patrol identified David Cohen as the driver of the vehicle. He was driving with his wife and three children.
The driver and one of the three children were able to get out of the vehicle, while the other two were rescued by two LAPD officers on the scene. However, as the vehicle became engulfed in flames, they were not able to rescue Zeomara Cohen, the children’s mother. She died at the scene.
The driver and the three children were taken to Northridge Hospital. Then, he was booked on suspicion of DUI.
The three children were then released to family members.
