David Crum Jr. Struck and Injured by Hit-and-Run Motorist on Highway 178 Near Morning Drive
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 30, 2018) – A 19-year-old boy hitchhiking from Bakersfield to Lake Isabella was struck and critically injured Saturday night on Highway 178 near Morning Drive.
David Crum Jr. was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking along the side of the road with a friend.
The 19-year-old’s friend tried flagging down anyone at the scene as the injured man suffered serious head trauma. According to his friend, he was hit by a light-colored sedan.
California Highway Patrol is investigating this hit-and-run and is asking anyone with information to contact the Bakersfield office at 396-6600.
