Motorcycle Crash on Highway 120 Kills Michael Ross
JAMESTOWN, CA (July 30, 2016) – The Sunnyvale man killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 120 just west of Jacksonville Road on Saturday morning around 7:33 a.m. has been identified by police.
According to an initial report by California Highway Patrol, a 2015 BMW K1300 motorcycle driven by 50-year-old Michael Edward Ross was traveling eastbound when he merged into the westbound lanes to pass a slower vehicle.
A 47-year-old man, identified as John David Wagner, was traveling westbound in a Volkswagen Jetta when he also attempt to pass a slower vehicle.
The two crashed, sending Ross off the side of the highway and off of his bike. The rider was pronounced dead a the scene as a result of the crash.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident, CHP said.
